I have a Sony Theater system and I couldn't figure out how to get the sound from the TV to play when I plugged it into the system and selected external speakers on the TV settings. In the manual for the Sony system it stated to use an Optical cable to achieve sound from the TV. I painted my living room and finally took the TV off the wall and connected the Optical cord. I now have surround sound from the TV for local changes. The sound is lower than what comes from my pc thats also connected but I just turn it up and its fine. I would recommend this for your surround sound solution for local TV channels if you are using an amp.This is a cost effective product that is of good quality. Probably the best deal out there on Amazon for such a product.I had to keep this optical cord taped in place, was a tad undersized plug, Possible bad production run. If not for that, looked and felt of high quality. But even after the 30 days return policy, the Seller - Segeboll Tech US reached out to me to fix the issue. Issue fixed to my satisfaction within 24hrs. I would purchase from them again.Won't stay plugged in. They don't make a firm connection and easily come unplugged. The loose connection also causes popping and crackling in the audio.greatThe cable works as it should. It carries the optical audio signal. But the ends don’t click into place like they should.
