The web portal and apps provide significant direct control over all important features so the Signature does not include Home Automation connectivity. The Signature controls new installation of most floor heating systems. Upgrading an existing floor heating system is easy; Signature is a direct replacement for virtually all floor heating thermostats; as long as they use a 10k ohms sensor (most stats do) Safe – UL approved 15 Amp Class A GFCI protection built-in for 120v & 240v 3 Year warranty White high gloss finish suits most décor (only available in white) Easy set-up wizard with test mode gets you started whether it’s a new install or upgrade. Q: Can the Signature be used to control baseboard heaters and other line voltage heating sources? A: Yes. However, the Signature does not regulate air temperature quite as well as the common TRIAC base board thermostats because its cycle time is 15 minutes vs. 15 seconds; a shorter time means less temperature swings. The Signature thermostat (like all floor heating thermostats) has a mechanical relay that switches the floor on/off in 15-minute intervals with a slight clicking sound when cycling. Typical base board heaters use a TRIAC thermostat which operate on 15-second cycles and have a silent electronic relay. Many customers still choose the Signature for baseboard heater control because the added features (WiFi connectivity, color touch screen, aesthetics, etc.) outweigh the difference in cycle time.

Our NTG5110 finally died - it would no longer follow the program and mostly failed to switch on the heat even manually. I found this upgraded unit and so far, I really like it. The retrofit installation was easy enough and they have YouTube videos showing details for every step for reference - recommended.There are two versions - one with WiFi and one without. The cost was so close, I went with the WiFi and I'm happy with it, although I'm a little concerned that I had to create an account for it and initially the program override and weather functions didn't work because it takes a day or so for the "server" to recognize it - Tech support was easy to reach, and they knew exactly what was happening. Hmmm...it's all fine now, but maybe consider the non-WiFI version if remote access from the phone app and the weather features aren't that important to you.
