Worked wellI’ve found them to be good quality for the price. Product matches listing and getting 10 plugs for way cheaper than any store near me makes my bank account happy. For a casual user these are the way to go.Perfect plugs for audio receivers! Very easy installation and straight forward. Screws 12 Awg wires with no issues. Definitely high quality plugs that won't break the bank. They come unscrewed easily, that’s all. This is a good pack of banana plugs for speaker set up. You get five pairs or a total of 10 plugs. If you have a whole 5.1 or 7.1 or more set up you will definitely need many more packs. Also, of the 10 plugs that came, one of them didn't quite work right. The plug that slides into the input on the speaker or receive was too thin. The work by being a little bit big at the plug end and they compress slightly to be held into place. One of them wasn't large enough and slid in and out freely and wasn't being held in place by the receiving plug. Luckily I only needed 8 plugs but you may want to order more than you think you'll need in case this happens to you.I was able to make the bottom connection work only because the wire gauge I was using came with such a thick outer coating that I literally had to use pliers to push the cable in the bottom so it was held in by it's own pressure. I did fan out the stranded wire but I don't think that's what is holding the cable in the plugs. I didn't want to use the side attachments as that looks weird and makes the wire all pointy in the back.Other than a few minor issues these are cheaper than most anything else you'll likely find and work just as good.Overall these work, but if you want to go into the end of the unit rather than out the side, it'd probably better to look for something else. Of course going out the side kind of defeats the purpose of using a banana plug. Just as well use the mounting posts. The plugs aren't the tightest fit either.I have tried many different speaker plugs and these are the best I have tried. They work with 12 AWG wire which is what I am using except for the sub-woofer which uses 10 AWG. But these still work with 10 AWG if you remove a few strands of the copper wire prior to insertion. Indeed, 12 AWG is pushing it, and I had to remove a few strands to get that to work as well. Despite these minor issues, the connection is excellent and introduces almost no resistance due in part to the gold coating and tight screw connector. An excellent choice for making your own speaker plugs.Honestly I just wanted an easier way to unplug speaker wires when performing maintenance on my receiver. I never purchased banana plugs because they were always sort of discussed and marketed as a premium interconnect. I could never square with the notion that attaching wires to these plugs makes a better connection that attaching wires strait to my receiver. In both cases they’re screwed down, and my receiver uses the same metal to connect with these are screwed in wire.I never considered the convenience aspect. I can’t imagine these would improve sound in anyway, but this sure beats crouching behind my receiver and trying to loosen those speaker terminals. Far easier even than those spring loaded clips from back in the day. The quality of materials means these won’t diminish sound in any perceivable way, and the added ease is worth the price if you just need to move your receiver once. I dust my receiver on a regular basis, and these just made my day.
